Happiness Lives In Love

So its April. What happened? What happened to this year?? It was JUST  January!  (aka the month of struggle).  What’s been going on? It’s time to take a pulse check. How are we feeling? How are we doing?

Our lives move so fast. Things race by an escape us so quickly. Sometimes we just need to slow down and chill.

On Saturday I had an impromptu lunch with a friend. She and I met when I started frequenting a boutique where she works on the weekends. We hit it off and she quickly became a sister-friend. She had had a week, I had finished with all of my class work so lunch it was.  And when I say we lunched, we lunched!  An outing that was supposed to be a quick trip to the bar ended up being three hours of chatting, laughing, venting, and encouraging. It was much- needed, for both of us.

Now, this is the second weekend in a row I have gone out with a friend to laugh, eat, talk, drink, and giggle. The week before was with one of the OG homies, and that too was amazing! It’s these moments where happiness lives.

Happiness lives in the experiences we share with friends. It lives in the tears of frustration wiped with encouraging words. It lives in the loving “girl, if you don’t sit down and be quiet, you’re wrong this time-s”. It lives in the time spent together.

Happiness lives in love.

It’s already April! We are four months into the year. We are breezing through 2019. It was just 2007 and we were pop-lock and droppin’ it! Things are moving fast! Our lives are speeding past us and we can hardly see where it is going. We are missing out on time with family and friends. Our babies aren’t babies anymore. We have with him for how long?!!?  Wait, how old am I?

Do yourself a favor this month, slow down! Take a breath come up for air. Take a sip of water, cool off. Give yourself a moment to enjoy the little things. Spend some time with the people you love, and who love you. Enjoy the company of your family and friends. Take a three-hour lunch. Go “set” with the old lady from the church.

Find those places where happiness lives and spend some time there. Slow down. Don’t let the rest of 2019 slip away without it.
